The Chess House is one of the capital’s most important sports buildings (architects Zh. Meshcheryakova and R. Manukyan, artists H. Bdeyan and D. Babayan, 1970).
It bears the name of Tigran Petrosian, two-time world chess champion. The building has an unusual triangular shape reminiscent of a chess rook. The façade is decorated with seven stylised chess pieces forged from copper.
