The building

One of the capital's most important sports buildings

The Chess House is one of the capital's most important sports buildings (architects Zh. Meshcheryakova, R. Manukyan; artists H. Bdeyan, D. Babayan, 1970). It bears the name of two-time World Champion Tigran Petrosian. The building has an unusual triangular shape resembling a chess rook, and its facade is decorated with seven stylised chess pieces forged from copper.
